Wax Candy is a woman-owned small business that was started in 2012. When a few estheticians saw a need for clean, affordable, and friendly waxing in Los Angeles they pooled their resources, learned how to hang dry wall, and built the first Wax Candy salon in downtown Los Angeles. They’ve since added locations in Long Beach and Pasadena.
Every waxer at Wax Candy is licensed, experienced, and trained in our gentle style of waxing. (You can still find an original owner at each location, waxing or perhaps even behind the front desk. If you see one of them, say hello. They’re always open to client feedback!) Our soft wax contains azulene, a derivative of chamomile, which makes it soothing for sensitive skin types while still being highly effective. At the start of each service fresh wax is poured into a new cup, which we toss out when your service is complete, so there is never ‘double dipping’.
In 2021, after years of searching for a natural, but also effective and affordable treatment for ingrown hairs, the Wax Candy owners launched Lollybat. It’s their own clean beauty product line that prevents and treats ingrown hairs, and the marks they leave behind. Lollybat continues to strive for sustainable packaging and can be found on Etsy.com, lollybat.com, and in all Wax Candy salons.
