tips & care

before the wax

  • wait at least 2.5 weeks after shaving to get waxed, because hair won’t come out if it isn’t at least 1/4” long (the length of an eyelash or grain of white rice)
  • do not trim or shave before getting waxed, because if hair is too short it won’t come out
  • if you’re sensitive, take an OTC pain reliever an hour before your appointment

after the wax

  • your skin might look and feel like a sunburn for a few days
  • apply aloe, diaper rash cream, or antibiotic ointment to sore areas and hydrocortisone cream to itchy or raised areas
  • avoid exercise, hot tubs, & saunas for 24 hours
  • if you’re going in the sun wear sunscreen on waxed areas to avoid skin damage or hyperpigmentation

waxing maintenance

  • wax regularly (every 4-6 weeks) so hair becomes lighter, thinner, & less painful to wax
  • exfoliate regularly to prevent and treat ingrown hairs, & visit lollybat.com for more information & products
  • avoid exercise, hot tubs, & saunas for 24 hours
  • don’t shave between waxing appointments as it can cause hair to grow in thicker & darker – just let it grow instead
